Some biting pests like some types of people more than others. Like with mosquitoes, the Munya has family members that wont get bitten, but once Munya steps outside to join the party, she is jumped on by the little vampires.
Why don't you get rid of the fleas? A good spray and fogger for the joint might help, and get a flea dip for the animal.

I have heard that fleas, mosquitos and such like certain people for their meals than others. I have fair hair and fair skin and fleas seem to love me for dinner. The bites also seem to last and itch forever for me.
My son has differently coloring (from his father's family). He had a terrible flea infestation in his house. The cat wouldn't even walk across the floor and jumped from chair to chair or table to table on his way out the door. The fleas didn't seem to be biting my son at all, or at least the bites didn't bother him.

The richer the blood the more you will get bit Try eating garlic fleas don't like it

I eat kimchee, and garlic which repels fleas and other biting insects in the field, with it's high garlic , and ginger content.
