Experts say that u should take the protein shake 1 hour b4 hitting the gym. Can I take the shake at the same time with carbs and other protein sources?

What they are saying is that you don't want heavy solid food in your stomach when you go to the gym. But if you are eating a solid meal at that time anyway, you probably could skip the protein shake at that time.

When you really want the protein shake is right after you stop your workout - while you are still shaking from that very last set. Your body is crying out for protein at that time and a protein shake with some liquid carbs is a great way to give your body what it needs at that time. Many will take 1 protein shake right after the workout, and another about 1/2 hour later, and then another solid meal about 1 hour after that.

definitely. that'll only improve the effects. and don't worry so much...if it wasn't healthy to do that, it'll say it in small, but bold, letters on the package. the company doesn't want to get sued after all, now, do they?
