Because the US has more oppertunity and better life style. There is always a way to work yourself up the ladder in the US as opposed to other countries. We have laws that protect employees and benefits as well. Also, our education programs are much better then most. The USA allows endless possibilities and allows growth.

That phenomina, may soon change.
Consided that 20-30 Million illegal folks (80% Mexican) come here and will work for around $7 dollars and hour, assuming the can find work NOW! Consider that the USA LEGAL immigration entrants annually are 50% from Mexico, then comes the rest of Latin AMerica and then the world.
If illegal immigration isn't stopped and reversed In America, the low wage earners, outside of all the economic damage that will be done to the infrastructure of welfare, hospitals, insurance health and other, education degredation and crime (40% of inmates incarcerated for felonies are illegal immigrants in Calif.) to name only a few, another 30 million folks mostly from Mexico will arrive and start driving the wage and work opportunities even lower. They will totally colapse the welfare and education systems which are currently in their death throw stage now.
If you have a sense of why Mexico is failing today and how it is to live there in terms of social services (lack of) or job opportunity, then you will start to at least be able to see what the USA will be starting to be like.
I really don't think people will continue to want to come here ...if it is only to be starved and denied an opportunity for a job where the wage will allow one to live a reasonable life and existance and pay for one's family. What future will that family have?
If schools are all being taught in Spanish, would you want to come if you were from Nigeria, or Eastern Europe or many other places in the world? Remember, English is usually the primary second language taught in European countries currently.
Conside these things and imagine what the future will hold for America and how things will very soon be (10-15 years) if illegal immigration trends are not stopped and reversed.

The reasons are pretty obvious...our economy seems to be working pretty good...question is, how many people do you have to add in a 12-month period for that to stop being true? Runaway growth can be bad news...and illegal immigration is still a crime.
It should be possible for other countries to fix their situations so as to be able to provide jobs etc., and hence get their people employed and paid better. 'Lets all move to america' isn't the universal global panacea some people try to sell it as, there's lots of tragedy stories out there from people that decided to emigrate, and ended up losing their shirts, some even losing their lives.
Immigration is like anything else, a process left ungoverned fully has the potential to become a nightmare...just like if you floorboarded the accelerator in your car and kept it there, it'd just be a matter of time before something bad happened, if not to you, then to somebody else.

Up until now we have enjoyed the best lifestyle in the world. The most freedoms, the best of all cultures. We have attracted the best in the world up until now. Now Bush has allowed millions of unscreened, undocumented illegals push their way into this country and bring gangs and violence. Uneducated masses are pouring into our borders every day and Bush has not done anything about it. I have written the White House several times and know countless others who have written their officials with their concerns. Bush will not be happy until we are a third world country with nothing to offer our own citizens because they have given it all away to thieves and law breakers who do not belong here! They refuse to enforce immigration laws in certain cities. These cities need to have all federal funds cut off so that we can take control of the illegal problem. Illegals need to go back home and all those that refuse need to be rounded up and kicked out with the promise that they will never be allowed to return .....ever! We need strong measures like military on our borders. Securing the borders should have been issue #1 in view of 9-11, what was Bush thinking? Now he wants to give them amnesty? I say HELL no let them go home NOW! Throw every last illegal out and make sure they will not come back so easily by running over the border! Jail employers that continue to hire illegals! Jail landlords that rent to illegals! Keep better track of who is in this country and why they are here! Beef up the INS and give them more power! I am willing to pay extra in taxes to make sure they go home! I am not willing to pay for their free educations and WIC, food stamps and section 8 housing! This makes me sick! Please people watch who you are voting for this time. Make sure he or she states where they stand on this issue! Make sure they give details of what course they plan to take if they get in! If not we will have 4 more years of the same crap!

Because America is the superpower of the world, we're prosperous, generous, and stable. Here is where the money is, and usually, that's what people want.
“A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in … And, how many want out." Tony Blair, Prime Minister of Britain
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Sorry, your assumption is false. The vast majority of all populations have no desire to leave their homelands, for a variety of reasons. And if you look at countries like France, Germany, the Netherlands and Britain, they are all dealing with the problems caused by a huge influx of immigrants.
Immigration is not just a US problem; it is a global issue.

Because we will support them when they get here.
If they simply thought it was a better country they would work to make changes in their own countries. Competitiveness to be "the best" is human nature. If they put as much effort into creating winning governments as they did winning soccer teams the world would be a far better place.

It all started with a "discovery", and genocide.
There was a wide, open expanse to be conquered.
Then, there was the rumour that the streets were paved with
gold.
The American Dream is too strong...
and they have no idea what it's really like.
But once they get here, it's still better than home.
And that's still something to write home about.

Because we subsidize education and services for our poor people, and they want us to pay for them and their families, too, at the expense of our own.
That doesn't apply to the skilled and educated, but those aren't the ones 'using' children, for example, to come over.
