I would like to know if there are any other cookies you can make decorated houses out of. My children to not like gingerbread, and neither do I , but we really want to make a house. Anybody out there know what I can use instead? Thanks

what about a basic sugar cookie recipe? if you go onto www.yummyfood.net they have some really good ones on there, and if you dont find one you're looking for you can email the people who run the site (Kate's online now) and they'll help you out.

I'm sure you could make a house out of sugar cookie dough! In fact I saw a cute idea where you cut out a little window, and put chopped up hard candies in the hole...bake them, and it looks like stained glass when it is baked. I bet that would be a cute house!

The rectangular Social Tea biscuits.

I didn't think that anyone actually ate their Gingerbread houses (you know kind of hard and dried out after the holidays)

You can make the dough either vanilla, by leaving out the ginger, or add cocoa power and make chocolate.

You can use graham crackers to make houses, or you can make chocolate cookies.
