Why is grape soda called "Grape" but doesn't taste like grapes at all?

Grape sodas usually have the flavor of one of the more pungent purple grape like Concord. Grape soda otherwise doesn't taste like any of the other grape varieties.

Grape soda does take like grape kool-aid.
