K, here's the deal. I'm from a middle-class family, his is extremely wealthy. Met his parents this summer and his father made a comment that I was dressed inappropriately (and I thought I looked nice and so did my guy). I'm flying in to meet them again and we're either going to a fancy dinner party or going to an upscale restaurant. They are extremely conservative and I'm the exact opposite of that. I don't want to be uncomfortable, but I want them to not make comments. I'm cute, fun, smart and very casual. I don't even own a skirt or a pair of dress pants.

Little black dress? Black stockings? Dockers? I have NO idea what these kind of people wear. I tried being myself last time and it didn't work. My guy loves me for who I am, but I'd like to kick it up a notch so we don't have to deal with his father's shallow judgements. To them, I'm the person trying to keep their son far away from his home, but I just love him & want to cause as little grief as possible. Suggestions?

Hi,. as you are saying they are very conservative and wealthy, well I would suggest a dress , long dress, maybe black, maybe dark blue, it could even be a pearly color, the color you like the most, as long as it doesn't have many sparkles, cause , i wouldn't go there. It should be without much cleavage, if it has a nice cut at the bottom that would be perfect, and the shoes, maybe some sandals, of the color of ur accesories, your hair pulled up, maybe a nice ponytail, or something.
If you are still not sure, check out an actual movie, where you could find some ideas.

He's the one who loves you and wants to be with you...his parents don't even live close. I'd say why worry about it...be yourself. If that makes you uncomfortable, wear something simple with clean lines, no bright colors and keep the accessories small. The best colors are green (not bright) or blue (navy or another medium to dark blue). For an upscale resturaunt you might consider a dress. The main thing is keep the bustline less than obvious and the length respectable. Good luck!

For your own sake as well as theirs, a little black dress, sheer black stockings and a pair of closed toe pumps are the way to go. That is appropriate dress for a nice restaurant, and although conservative , is probably more sexy than you have ever been.

Many of us go out every Saturday night looking like that, ant truthfully, its a lot of fun, especially afterwords.

Try not to make it look too formal, or too casual. Kind of in the middle.
