Dr. Pepper contains 2 main ingredients that could have caused your boyfriend to feel 'high', caffeine and sugar. The former is a stimulant and apart from prohibiting sleep, it can also increase awareness and on some occasions behavior. However it is more likely that your partner received a 'sugar rush'. A large intake of sugar over a short period of time can cause temporary physical and psychological changes, although short lived, these changes may have accounted for what you described as being high. If he didn't consume a particularly large quantity of the beverage, it might be advisable to make an appointment with a GP, just to check his blood sugar levels in case of diabetes, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about though.

I know that everyone on here says that you can't get high on caffeine and sugar but let me tell you something. My daughter and I do not drink at all. We were out shopping for her wedding a couple of years ago and we had to go to several malls in the area. At each and every mall we hit every candy store and ate candy all day. We had every kind of chocolate you can imagine and before the day was over we were laughing uncontrollably and people thought we were stoned. When we got home, my husband and her fiance both thought we had been drinking and we had not. It was the weirdest thing in the world.

So I have to say that yes you can get high on something like that. But we had eaten a bunch on candy that day.

No, you might get "high" off the sugar and caffeine, but most people wouldn't call that "high." More like a buzz.
Ok, I guess you could, it would take a hell of a lot of soda though.
Gross.

it's called a sugar high. it's not an actual high, like when you take drugs. but the sugar or caffiene in the soda can cause you to get extremely hyper and excited.

soda, even gallons won't make you high. not unless your sensitive to caffeine and you got wired from it. he must have gotten high before hanging with you. he probably smoked a joint or tripped on acid or something.

Soda does not make you high. It can make you hyper if you drink enough if it. Sugar buzz type thing.

He could be on E or some other drug, maybe he was huffing. Either way, you need to break up with him if he continues to get high.
