For a projector. I know its not HD or SD but, will it be as good as a regular TV?

Not really, no. Although it depends what you want to project, and how large. Your computer monitor is probably 800x600 or 1024x768. Older computer monitors (around the time of Windows 3.1 or Windows 95) tended to be 640x480. 234 pixels is a very small height for showing any significant level of detail, and 557 is quite poor too.

A regular TV (SDTV) is 640x480 in otherwords 480 lines of resolution. HDTV is 720 or 1080 lines of resolution. At 557x234 resolution, it will be equivalent to VCR quality.

If you are looking at a projector, then I would don't buy it. If you are trying to find a projector for less than $500, there are many refurbished or used projectors that sell for less and you can get 800x600 (SVGA) or 1024x768 (XGA) projector. For $500 these days, you can pick up a 720x480 or 800x600 new projector. For $1000, you can pick up a 1280x720 or 1024x768 new projector.

You probably will not be happy.It will show you lot of distortion
