You can set the waves first when its damp; work a little setting gel or something for curlz. Use clips or big rollers and let them air dry if you are trying to avoid heat drying for the frizzies. If you have a difuser on your dryer, use that on a warm setting, or just hold your dryer far from your head on a low blow setting. Then after its all dry, switch to cool air all around to set it. Your hair must be totally dry before taking out the rollers or clips-otherwise, it will straighten out.

Afterwards, use a serum for shine and frizzies. Be careful, some products are a little thick and oily and will seperate your hair more. the spray on shine products tend to be less oily on your hair and dont control the frizzies too much, it just gives shine.

Go to a beauty supply store and talk to someone there, they should be able to help you out.

But before you do all that, play around with some setting gel or something without a lot of alcohol (that will dry your hair and make frizzies too) and your hair dryer. Then see what you need to perk up your waves.

Look thru hair magazines and how to beauty books at a book store like Borders or something, to show you better, how to get these hair styles. Or go to the library and check out some books. You dont have to spend money on research, save it for the hair products.

I have relaxed hair too and I use a gel that's used for curly hair(umbertogiannini.com) and I air dry it after I come out of the shower and go to sleep, wake up and wahlaa there's waves!

Ok !!! All you have to do is braid your hair and leave it like that for a while and there you go you have waves !!! But thats only if you want waves for a little while if you want them forever you go and get a wavy perm !!! The reason I know that is because my mom wants me to go get it done !!!

Best of luck !!!

If you don't want to sleep on a wet head, try a curling cream after the shower and blow dry with a diffuser to but the frizz

Get a perm or take a shower before bed and leave your hair in wet braids.
