One stormy night a few years ago, after having a death in the family earlier that day, I was up in my room by myself mourning when I found what I think was a baby crow right outside my window. At first it frightened me, because I had never seen a crow this close up before, and also because this one had red eyes. It looked in at me the entire night until I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was gone.

It was probably just there trying to find shelter from the rain and wind, but it does seem like the sort of thing that would be some superstitious belief about. I know birds in your house are suppose to symbolize bad luck, or that birds are suppose to carry evil spirits within them, but I wanted to know if there were any other specific belief about black birds/windows/death.

Thanks

Hi Andrew, I think that you got it right with the sheltering thing, the rest is just superstition.
