More Water is always, I repeat always good for you!!!
If you think of it in one large lump like that, of course it will seem like a lot.
These days folks easily down 32 oz drinks with their value meals, convert that to water with your meals and you're most of the way there.
The human body is 90 % water, and just like a fish tank it needs to be replenished with newer cleaner water.
YES, you are essentially flushing your body daily.
It should help, but it can be hard to make that a habit lasting more than a few days. Do try though, and keep trying. It will never hurt you to have more water. (okay except in some foriegn locales, but that's a different point all together)

WHAT! thats 15 glasses of 6 oz. of water. Just stick to 8 glasses of water a day.

I think your trainer is wacked.....*grins* no, that is not correct. You should drink 64 oz. of water a day, plus add 16oz. of water for every hour of intensive (fast running, fast swimming, 2hrs. if it's only moderate or slow) workout. That's what my swim coach told me, and it keeps me active and energized all day!!!
