Antifreeze is a poison that puppies find sweet tasting. The symptoms a puppy/dog that has ingested it will have are: convulsions, wobbling, vomiting, coma and sudden death.
The best treatment for it is if sure that your puppy/dog has in fact drunk some antifreeze you should immediately induce vomiting and seek medical attention. Even with medical attention antifreeze can cause death.
as most people do no keep anything in there house to safely induce vomiting in dogs, i think its important you do in case his awful person does give your dogs antifreeze.
buy from the shops a box of soda crystals and keep at home. if poisoning is suspected give the animal by mouth a few small lumps of crystals until vomiting as occurred.
this wont hurt the animal and will prevent of absorption of the antifreeze.
its important to act as quickly as you can.
soda crystals are safe in inducing vomiting when antifreeze is the poison but not in all poison cases. do not use for any other poisons just in case but can be used if animal has ingested human chocolate, most human meds etc
after initial first aid take the animal immediately to the vets.

The fine should be way more than that. Even if it is a tiny fine for what they have done the police should still do something about it. I mean this person is going around and killing things. That is a little creepy.
Keep calling the police if another dog/cat is killed. I would also try calling animal cops.
Aren't the police supposed to help people that call them????

Sometimes people put anti-freeze inside of raw meat or other food and throw it over a fence where dogs are. The best way to prevent poisoning is to keep their water away from easy access from the fence, to do a yard sweep and pick up anything a dog might eat that is in the yard before letting them out. Also change their water frequently.
If you had camera surveillance you might catch the creep. I had two dogs in my yard part time and there was a creep in our neighborhood and the same lack of concern by authorities. I caught one creep throwing some sharp objects to them. Some put slivers of glass or metal pieces in meat. I came outside and told him to get away from the fence and he got real belligerent and told me he was going to come back with some poison in meat and kill my dogs. I lost it at that point and came out after him and he took off. I followed and he ran into his yard and I told him that if ANYTHING happened to my dogs I knew where he lived. I never saw him again. Hope your dogs stay safe and sorry to hear about something that is all too common of a problem.

That is horrible, and unfortunately, I have heard of similar situations in other places. So sad and so cowardly. Just make sure your dogs are never outside unattended and maybe keep them leashed so you can pull them back if they start to lick or eat something you can't identify.
A friend of mine a long time ago had his dog poisoned by someone soaking dog food in antifreeze and throwing it over his fence (they caught the guy too, he was trying to burglarize his house and knew he had a Rottie and a Shepherd so wanted the dogs out of the way - Jack@$$!!!)
Good luck with your situation, make sure the cops know, especially if you have a K-9 officer in your community!!

That is absolutely sick! I hope you guys can find out who's doing this. Maybe set up a neighborhood watch. Any suspects? Someone who's complained about the dogs in the past? The bad part of it is that these people once they are caught only get a slap on the wrist from the court system. Sickening.

i haven't any memories like those to share. analyzing approximately this crap basically reaffirms that I take excitement in working from domicile so my dogs Ginger isn't on my own all day. as quickly as I run errands, I carry her alongside quite some the time. we are fortunate sufficient to have the means to stroll to many substantial places. no you may stalk me; she'd enable me understand if somebody replaced into astounding around in the timber. We defend one yet another. If I caught every person attempting to f*u*c*happy with Ginger i do no longer understand if there's a decrease to how i might react (relies upon on what the guy did).

heh dog killers? damm that sounds almost as bad as the killer dogs we got here in the uk... i swear once a weak theres a incident where a dog totally savages a baby no joke. Just recently i read this article about a a 9 year old girl playing in the back garder of her grandparents. THey had a dog, he came out his little house, he tried eating her leg, she ended up in the hospital severely battered. And thats just 1 story.
anyways when u catch the dog killer, ship him to the uk and we'll put him in the same garden as the killer dogs i was telling u about. that should be fun to watch ;p good luck.

Keep your dogs inside and supervised at all time.
We've had a spate of cats going missing lately - turns out that a group of people were snatching them and using them to bait dogs. It's a sick world.

i agree with the keeping doggs in till u need to let them out then watch them and get a video camera..............there r some wild life cameras if u have the funds (they r not expensive) that have a motion sensor to capture the culprit when he sets it off.
