I am looking for a place to buy the miniature people for a christmas village. I don't want the normal ones that everyone sells they are too big for the houses. I am looking for ones that are true to scale with the houses. I REPEAT I DON'T WANT A BUNCH OF SITES THAT SELL THE MINI PEOPLE THAT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE 7 FT TALL COMPARED TO THE HOUSES. A long time ago I found a set that were really little and would stand on the front porches and in a gazebo but lost the set after a move. Thanks for your help.

Looks at "Ask This Dummy" and smacks him in the back of the head and says "Get back in the box!" I never once mentioned a Christmas Navtivity Stable. I said Christmas Village.

I've been looking too and asked this question on Y.A. a few weeks back. (http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArD52m60hv42rwiCNiUTPH7AFQx.?qid=20061114001841AAQRdZx)

Only a couple answers and they suggested using model railroad stuff, (Mine are the smallest houses... the doors on the houses are about 1 inch so they suggested that HO people would likely be appropriate) but there's no good shop near me so I was looking on ebay, but most of the people I've seen there are sure NOT dressed for winter and the shipping's nuts so I still haven't gotten any.

Someone also sent me links explaining how most "Christmas Village" designers aren't as persnicketty about scale as railroad people and to just get over it and use the 7ft people. (Grrr...)

I tend to put the bigger pieces in the front so that they look like they're in "perspective" and I also am going for more of a "night" scene so I make myself feel better by saying they're all in bed :-)

I can't believe there isn't someone making $$ off selling the figuines in the correct size for the Christmas Village creators like you and I who DO care about the scale of the pieces!!

My baby just turned one so unfortunately I don't think my village will be making an appearance this year. Oh well, at least I have another year to find some people!!

Happy Holidays!

Thinking outside the box..... If the figures you can buy are too large for the scale of the stable.......build a bigger stable to the correct size for figures you can obtain. A bit of woodwork is probably a very cheap option.

once in a while you can find some people and animals in the toy dept. or you can hit the yard sales, you can get cheap stuff that has people on them, take them off and use in your village. i have found some really nice people, animals trees benches etc. doing that.

I would suggest looking into model railroad suppliers/supplies. There are so many different scales for model trains, you just might find what you want. Trees and other accessories, also.
