In some way Yes. But it is more of Tragic than a laughing stock of the world. There has been conflict in the Middle East even before the Birth of Christ, and there will be conflict even when the US leave Iraq.

Look at Lebanon today. Hezbellah fought the Israelis to get them out of Lebanon after they kidnapped the two Israelis, and now they are rioting and proticing their own lebanese government. It is as if they are not statisfied unless they are in conflict with one or another group, even their own. History repeats itself, and sadly in the Middle east, it is one bloody conflict after another.

Consider this with all the oil they have. Many of their people still live in poverty. How is that possible. Corrupted government, must be it. Too sad.

In the year 2000, a Zogby Poll listed the USA as the most liked nation in the world. When the poll was done again in 2006, the USA was cited as the least-liked nation in the world. That fool Bush has made the USA a laughing stock around the world.

What's there to laugh at in the Middle East? Suicide bombers, terrorists, constant wars and rumors of wars . . . always some chaos.

What do you mean 'the laughing stock of the world?'
The misguided, misinformed Arabs think that getting rid of Israel will solve all their problems, but that won't help. They will just seek to overthrow the rest of the world until Islam rules the world.
