Ok so i'm an african american, and right now i'm a medium brown color. But I was born light brown. I spent alot of time under the sun last year and I think that's what caused me to get darker. I want my beautiful natural light-brown skin back. I've tried alot of things to get it back i've tried skin lightening creams, scrubbing hard when i shower and even staying out of the sun this summer but still nothing really happened. My goal is to get to the color of skin that is under my forearms and near my biceps (parts that weren't exposed to the sun) or is it justnormal for those parts to be lighter because i've noticed those spots don't have hair, which could potentially be the reason it's lighter
anyways give me some advice pls.
thanks in advance

I don't know if it will work...but you can try to put clay and water, let it dry and clean...if it doesn't help, in summer, after some days in the sun your skin will be back...don't you think? Pray for that!

you could have hyper pigmentation caused by sun exposure.

i had the same problem.

my dermatologist prescribed retin a (tretinoin) at night
i also used a good moisturizing sunscreen in the morning and through out the day to protect my skin

it worked beautifully.

use a sunscreen religiously.
skin lighteners will only make your skin even darker if you don't.
scrubbing hard may worsen the problem.you might be bruising the skin which will then hyper pigment as it heals.

you may mechanically exfoliate every now and then but be gentle.

for chemical exfoliation
invest in a well formulated alpha hydroxy acid like glycolic acid or lactic acid and use it daily instead of scrubbing. (plus sunscreen)
if you can afford it, go get a laser treatment for quicker results.

go see a dermatologist ,you might make it worse by trying too many things
good luck

Well if the change in your skin is from the sun then that means it will lighten in time. As an African American you should everyday be using an spf protection. So my suggestion to you is use sun protection and in time your skin will go back to what color it was before. My daughter is mixed and that happened to her during the summer. Once she was away from the sun she went back to her normal color within 2 months or so. Hope this helps. Stay away from bleaching cream please its not going to ever be even and its not healthy for your skin. For right now don't worry about your skin i am sure you look beautiful medium brown and your probally have an amazing glow that makes you look healthy! :)

It is possible that if you have hair there it will appear darker. Except yourself the way you are. I am sure you are very nice looking just the way you are. I am very pale and my mother was very dark and I always wanted to be dark like her but it doesnt work that way we need to except the way we are.
