I met a guy, we kissed and exchanged numbers one night. He wants to take me out on a date. However, I am not ready to date again as I just got out of a 2 and 1/2 year relationship 5 weeks ago.

This new guy is really sweet and I dont want to hurt his feelings. I also dont want him to feel like I led him on. What can I say to him to let him know this without using any of the cliches or having an uncomfortable conversation with him?

your like me but somtimes you just got to forget the past and move on . you cant find the right one if you keep holding back . i would say meet up with him and talk to him about what happend. dont go into it to fast but just let it out when together after about 2 hours. dont hold yourself back , he likes you , you like him and thats strong enough in my eyes :> you never know he may be your future hubbby

I would be honest with him I recently ended a relationship and I told the guy the truth I just ended a 9 yr relationship and I just got divorce so I want to work out some time for myself you are a great guy but the timing is not right for me however I would love to continue to stay in touch the guy at this end accepted it and thanked me for my honesty and good for you for realizing that you are on the rebound I told the guy that too and I told him I don't want to use you as a rebound person he also respected that if this guy truly likes you he will accept it too good luck to you

You're afraid that this boy will break up with you. Don't be so quick to judge that something is wrong. Are you feeling that things are moving too fast? If he's that nice to be with you and ask you out, you shouldn't dump him. You should try to let go of your previous relationship and focus on the future.

Best of Luck.

Rejection is almost always uncomfortable...just tell him what you told us...you like him, but aren't ready to date...perhaps down the road you'll both be available and still attracted to one another...but either way, definitely tell him the truth and don't leave him hanging...

Bravo you for wanting to do the right thing...

u did lead him on. but the best thing u can do is be honost now and let him know how u feel and that u just wanna be friends now. don't let him get deeper in.
