If the mother dog doesn't object, you can pick up the puppy for a little bit. Just be careful not to hurt the puppy, don't let it get cold, and put it back soon. If the mother dog doesn't want you to do this, you should be kind to her because she wants the best for her pups. You may be able to gain her trust after a while. If she still won't let you, just wait until they are older. They need their mom more than they need you.

No. It has to stay with its mother for at least 6 weeks, because it is dependent on it. If you took it away that soon, it would probably die. I know it's hard to wait; trust me, I've been there before. But it's better to wait than to have the puppy die, isn't it? :)

do you mean your dog had puppies and you want to hold one?
or you want to go buy one that is only a couple of hours old?
if your dog had puppies then she shouldnt have a problem with you holding one, as long as you dont try to take it out of her sight.
if you mean to go buy one, NO.
Puppies need their mothers milk until they are about 6 weeks old.

The puppy wouldn't mind, but the mother probable would. She could either defend the puppy by snapping or attacking, or reject the puppy all together.
Not a good idea.

wait until its dry, for sure, and never take it away from its mother for at least four weeks. only pick it up if the mother is your own dog, and trusts you deeply. dog owners that are close to their dogs usually know.

Yes, if your dog had pups you can pick them up right away if she lets you. If your talking about picking up the pup to take it home, well then of course NOT!.
