Because it is almost a dead language, and do you think is it of any use if you learn it, I mean if you are fighting to get a job in this competitive world.
Yes, you can learn it out of interest, out of love, no one is stopping you.

Because Sanskrit is a Tongue Twister language and it is not practized now-a-days. As per the western culture effect no body is interested to learn Sanskrit when compared to English.

ohhhhhhhhhhh i think u knw too much sanskrit itsguuuudd
sm of us hv learnt it in our school days but never bothered to look deep inside . the panchtantra kinda stories r so light hearted but yet so meaningful
bible nd sanskrit stories r almost d same
d fact that now a language (that is english)has been made official nd used almost everywhere it is difficult to change ourselves.......
ullu ke pathon apni language ko hi dead kais ekeh sakte ho............. if u say that u snatch away ur originallity
i am npot agnst speaking english caz rite now i am able to explain my pt of view in it.....
