My eyes are the window to my soul. They betray my every thought, my every emotion. I can't hide behind them, and I can't lie to your face because of them. They keep me honest in the up close and personal moments.
Look at pictures of serial killers such as Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. Their eyes are empty, there's no emotion. Happy babies have dancing eyes, abused ones...tortured. The homeless and down trodden have eyes filled with pain and despair. They lack the light of hope.
I have seen your eyes. It is because of what I saw in them that I fell in love with you.

That's a very old saying, but I do think there's truth to it. Haven't you ever just been able to look at a person and just KNOW they're having a bad day, or upset, or extrememly happy? It's similar to that. The deeper you look into a person's eyes, the more you will be able to see about said person. Now, this doesn't mean that because you see happiness or sorrow, that you can actually see the person's soul (as a person's soul is their spirit, and doesn't have an actual physical form), but you can tell alot about them.
I found a website that tells a person more about the 'soul', and maybe this will help explain it a little. http://www.sevenraystoday.com/thesoulanon.htm Now, it's a religious website, and the veiws therein are mentioned, but I think it's a pretty good explanation.
"2. The Soul - (psyche in Greek) is the evolving quality of the human entity, developing over countless lifetimes through the instrumentality of the personality. The soul is essentially consciousness. It is trans-personal, meaning it exists beyond the person; it is a-mortal, meaning it is not born and does not die; and it is non-local, meaning it is not confmed to the bounds of space and time. This concept is somewhat different from the Christian notion of ruah, (Hebrew for breath) which is imaged as a ghost that enters into the body before birth and leaves it at death. The esoteric conception holds that the soul remains a transcendent consciousness throughout its experiences of embodiment. The term soul is not used by Buddhists, who tend to be committed to the notion of anatma (Sanskrit for no soul). The esoteric tradition is not ignorant of the meaning of that doctrine, and teaches a pragmatic non-dualism in which the relativistic perspective, that thinks in terms of the soul as a separate entity, is expected to evolve toward the perspective of the absolute, which knows all beings as a boundless singularity. (A Buddhist term which might serve as an equivalent for the esoteric term "soul" is alaya - used by Tibetan mysticism to refer to ordinary, or unconditioned, awareness as the basis for the existence of individual beings.) No. First of all, I dont believe in any spiritualist/religious nonsense, but nor will I eighter believe that the person`s godess or badness could be evaluated from the eyes.
How person moves one`s eyeballs, is a personal, and they do not move so that you could carry a personality chart with you and say"that one is idiot, that one is ignorant, that one is suspicious, lovely...etc.
I know that many people think they can evaluate person by eyes, but for example In my case, my eyes fool any person like nothing else, since I dont like to wach nor be watched straight to my eyes.

If you are trained you can notice micro-expressions, which involve the eyes, that can give you clues to weather the person is being deceptive or not... but a window to the soul? No way, souls don't even exist. Eyes are organs that convert light into signals our brain can understand so it can recreate what is around us in our minds, that's all.

No. A persons eyes are just little mirrors that take in light and turn that light into electric impulses that travel to the brain to be interpreted into sight.

I think you can see a glimpse of what could be but we can never know the true spectrum of another person's heart or capacity for love, hate, lie, truth...only God knows that.
