Between 14 & 16. Anytime before that is just asking for trouble.

I have 2 daughters- 18 and 14.

I let them start wearing tinted lip gloss and light eyeshadow around 12. They both started getting acne around 13/14, so cover up came soon after. Then they decided to try eyliner.

I taught my oldest that less is more and she taught the youngest...as long as you put your foot down and tell her that you won't let her out of the house if she looks like she's going to a whore house, she'll be fine.

Me and my daughter(Rachel) are very close.......My daughter is 13, in the 7th grade and has been wearing make up since she was 9. And I dont mean lip gloss...i mean eye liner & mascra. My daughter came home from school last week and told me this.....Her boyfriend (Josh) grabbed her but, she has a F in science, She figured out that she was popular, a boy in her class called her sexy, Rachel got sentto the office for letting Josh give her a piggy back ride up the hill, Rachel and Josh got caught making out in gym class. Some of her friends that are guys were planning to kill this one guy because he touched one of the boys girlfriends butt. And Rachel and a few of her class mates were making fun of this one girl in their class that IS FAT, UGLY, AND DOESNT WEAR COOL CLOTHES AND DOES NOT WAER MAKE UP........Do you want your daughter to be a dork like the one Rachel made fun of???

i'd say at 12 a girl could wear light things like a very light, pastel eyeshadow and lip gloss. I wouldn't let her wear anymore than that until she was 14 or 15.

I'd like to know the answer myself as well. My daughter shows no sign of interest in real makeup, and she is almost 13, but the girls on her soccer team who are one year ahead of her in school wear it. Some of them look pretty- um- not so innocent, if you get my drift. I think if she asked me I'd have to recommend she wait until she was at least a Freshman or Sophomore in high school.

When they're ready. I'm gonna be 11 in 10 days. I'm home schooled so I'm not like other kids. I don't wanna grow up fast. I don't feel like I need to wear make up to be beautiful like my other friends that aren't home schooled. They say I'm wierd because I don't even like lip gloss! The only thing I like to put on my lips is cocoa butter with vitiman E. But I'd let her when she's ready. One more thing, my mom said it's ok with her but I just don't wanna. Hope I helped.
