You are very brave! Los Angeles is great - beautiful weather and beautiful scenery all year long. The job market is wonderful. It is expensive but not so bad if you know where to move to (my suggestion is the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles - Valley Village, Toluca Lake, Studio City, parts of North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, & Burbank all have great places to live that are a little more affordable). You will need a car as everyone drives in Los Angeles. It can be difficult to meet people since it is a city of freeways and driving - however I would suggest going to Los Angeles's People Connection webpage - I met several friends from that website. Also, www.Craigslist.org has job and apartment listings. As far as people go - there is a higher ratio of shallow & dumb people but you will also find wonderful, fantastic friends. Good luck to you!

It you live by the ocean, it's 80 degrees Celcius on the hottest day. If you live inland a few miles, it's 95 degrees on the hottest day. The nicer parts of LA are north of the city where the movie industry is located > Burbank, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, UCLA, Santa Monica. The boardwalk at the beach in Santa Monica stretches for miles on past Venice Beach.

For all the bad things about California that people say, you should enjoy it very much. In the bad parts of town, don't argue with gangmembers for any reason, and things will be fine. They are stupid > they'll go to jail over little stuff.

Los Angeles is nothing like Europe. It is a very exciting and often confusing place to live. It will be quite expensive, but the trade-off is the weather, the beautiful scenery, and the ocean. Unfortunately, it is becoming overcrowded with illegal immigrants and traffic is horrendous. If you have a good job or a lot of money so that you can afford to live there, you will love it. There is lots to do, a lot of nice people, and a great adventure awaits you. Check out AOL's Los Angeles city guide http://cityguide.aol.com/losangeles

If your moving to U.S. that is great, there are many places I am sure you will love. California is expensive, road rage is out of control, lots of crime. On the other hand it is beautiful and full of things to do indoors and out. You should do research before choosing a state to move to if you have the choice.

Well, California is like the Philippines with two seasons... wet and dry seasons. Also, the phasing there is so fast that you have to really budget your time.
Have a nice trip and hope you will enjoy your stay there.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!

Once you find a place to work then find a neighborhood close to your work. It is hard to find and make friends in LA so if you have a church or club you could join it might make it a little easier.

There is a lot of traffic, a tremendous amount of mexican americans and also illegal immigrants. There are rich parts where the stars live and ghetto parts where there is tons of crime. A lot of smog, but it is always sunny.

The best tip anyone can give you is:

Live close to where you work. You don't want to spend so much of your day commuting.

Welcome to Los Angeles! :)
