There is this girl friend of mine that invited me to her church / meeting she's knows that I don't claim any religions so I went along to the meeting, the name of the religion is call "Jehova Witness" Then when I got there she did not approve of what I was wearing ...mind you I was covered in a pair of long blue jean pants and boots and my leather coat but she told me to sit in the back.

And another thing that trips me out about her is when I'm at her house and if a christmas commercial happen to be on television she'll jump for the remote and change the channel...And for what ever reasons I just cannot fall asleep at her house without starting off with a night mare... I'm serious guys! Any ways...We're not as close anymore but this is what she told me before we stop talking she say that I was going to hell just because I told her that I kinda like the christians religion better not the "holy ghost" type but just regular christians and she got mad at me.

Sadly, this so-called "question" seems intent on misrepresenting Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses welcome interested persons in any modest attire to their public meetings. Jehovah's Witnesses harbor no superstitious aversion to so-called "Christmas" commercials.

But most noticeably, Jehovah's Witnesses (both formally and informally) preach a message of "good news", and leave all judging for Jehovah and Jesus to perform "on the last day".

(Acts 10:36,42) Declare to them the good news of peace through Jesus Christ: this One is Lord of all others. ...this is the One decreed by God to be judge of the living and the dead

(John 11:23-25) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life.

(John 12:48-49) The word that I [Jesus] have spoken is what will judge [a person] in the last day; 49 because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment

(John 8:16) if I do judge, my judgment is truthful, because I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me

(Matthew 12:36) They will render an account concerning it on Judgment Day

(John 5:22,27-30) [The Father] has committed all the judging to the Son... 27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because Son of man he is. 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out... I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

(Acts 17:30-31) God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. 31 Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man [Jesus] whom he has appointed

In addition, Jehovah's Witnesses are quite famous for teaching that "hell" does not exist as Christendom has taught it; God has *NOT* arranged for any such place of fiery torment for sinners in some netherworld. The original Hebrew and Greek words most commonly translated as "hell" actually refer to the common grave of mankind; the Scriptures point forward to a time after Armageddon when humans will live forever and death and "hell" are themselves destroyed.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all

(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]

(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

How self-righteous of you to imagine you're something particular because you're full of mild or some such non-experience. that is the most moral thanks to be. One choose no longer be non secular to appreciate non secular paintings. One choose no longer be into paintings to make certain in the experience that they prefer or dislike slightly of meant paintings. The exciting element about paintings is that that is so extensively subjective. for sure an atheist can 'get' non secular paintings. some likely comprehend it more desirable than many non secular human beings seeing that many atheists have spent extra time gaining understand-how of about a range of of religions and their histories. Many atheists were once theists. understanding it and believing or assisting it aren't to any extent further mutually inclusive.

If your girlfriend was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, then she would not tell you you were going to hell for any reason because we know that hell, as you think of it does not exist. Hell is another name for the common grave of mankind. We don't celebrate Christmas, but we don't freak out over the fact that many do. We know that there are very many people who use the world to the full. I can't imagine anyone jumping up every time a commercial comes on about Christmas, rather we would watch less tv since nearly every show is about Christmas right now.

I had to take the last part of my answer off because you very politely straightened me out on my wrong assumption.

Your friend wants you to know the truth from the Bible. What other religious organization will tell you the truth about the pagan origins of Christmas and why true Christians don't celebrate it? They won't because that's the time of the year when they rake in the most money from people who don't know any better.

Before you get bent all out of shape, talk to your friend and learn the truth about Christmas and other things that God does not approve of. Maybe your friend seems a little frustrated because you might not accept what she is learning from the Bible. Just talk to her.

Jehovah Witnesses don't believe in Christmas. They don't believe in celebrating any birthday. My ex sister-in-law is of this religion. She doesn't like birthday cards. She doesn't want us sending them to her children. The religion also doesn't like others not of their religion. Her father decided not to be a Jehovah's Witness any longer and her entire family shunned him. This is true. When he was in the hospital dying, none of them went to see him. Only my brother, who is Catholic did. I am not Catholic any longer. I am a Christian though. I have problems with the beliefs of many organized religions. I just rely on my faith and The Bible. There are many good non-denominational churches available. You should check some out.

Jehovah's witness's are not a Christian denomination. They deny the Deity of Christ and therefore the celebration of Christmas to them is to celebrate something contrary to their beliefs. They also do not believe in the eternal existence of the soul but hold that upon death your total being is annihilated and no longer exists. They believe that Jesus was not God in the flesh but "a god" in the sense that we are all gods unto ourselves. They do not serve in the military and as a veteran myself that believes we are responsible to defend freedom with our very lives, I see Jehovah's Witnesses as a bunch of simple minded freaks that are in direct opposition to the truth of God's word. They are a cult in the truest sense of the term and are in opposition to anyone that does not hold to their doctrine. They have rewritten the bible and changed select portions that did not support their beliefs. For your friend to tell you that you are "going to hell" is absurd because they do not believe in a literal place called "hell." I have had several discourses with Jehovah's Witness and as soon as they find out that you know the bible they scram like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Stop looking for a "religion" and start looking for a relationship with the Lord, this is the only true way, truth and life. Remember that if it isn't true to scripture, true to reason and true to life...there's something wrong with it.

the problem is that the witnesses like the mormons are a cult that indoctrinates it`s members with a set formula of rigid rules that do not conform to mainstream Christianity, and they are conditioned to quickly spot anything that is contrary to their training program, you will find it increasingly difficult to have a relationship on her terms.
