Christians and Muslims are far different religious groups. I can only speak for my church, and no, objects are not worshipped.

I'm Muslim and I'll tell you the reason for both. A church for Christians and a mosque for Muslims help us get closer to God. As to religious symbols Muslims do not believe in the crescent moon. In fact that is not even a Muslim symbol. It is a symbol left from the time when the Ottoman Turks ruled the entire Middle East and has been associated with belonging to Muslims. The Cross or Crucifex for Christians symbolizes that Christ died for their sins on the cross. At least that's what Christians belileve. Muslims know Isa(PBUH*) is a prophet of ALLAH.

Well there are many purposes of praying in mosques like , it brings the muslims closer togather five times a day, all peoples whether they are poor r rich pray togather, that give a sense that everyone is equal and there is no discrimination on basis of status .when muslims meet so frequently they get to know each other problems and some times are helpful in solving that. Mosques are bascially a plateform for muslims for their unity.and above All our Allah likes muslim to pray togather
And muslims have no pics or signs to follow, i know moon is linked to islam as it is put on top of many of the mosques.but its just sympolic .Muhammad(pbuh) and his peoples at that time never used moon as symbol, they used to carry a flat flag of any colour .Moon has nothing to do with islam except that we follow lunar calender.Idol worshiping is forbidden in islam.

I'm a christian, and we need them because it is a place of peace and devotion to the Lord. praying at home is fine, but praying in a church or mosque can bring one closer to who he or she worships. as for the pics and signs, they symbolize our respect to our Lord. that's what they've been telling me all the way back then in the 2nd grade and in my 14 years of living i found out that it was true.

I don't NEED church, but I WANT to go.
Pictures and signs? We don't have any, except a cross at the front of the sanctuary. And we don't worship the cross, it's only a symbol.
