One is too many for any town. 15 years ago Starbucks served fresh roasted coffee and brought coffee culture to the mainstream while creating some of their own culture and lingo to go with it. It used to be a great place and they used to only sell coffee that had been roasted within a week. Their employees used to be treated very well.

That isn't the case anymore. The coffee isn't fresh. It isn't roasted well. And, contrary to what they would like you to believe most of it is not organic or fair trade coffee.

Find a good local roaster/coffee shop that is committed to high quality, fair trade 'type' coffee, and who roasts beans on-site or locally. Every town needs a few good coffee shops. No town needs starbucks.

I will go there if there is no decent alternative but I prefer a high quality store. Starbucks has become the MacDonald's of coffee. Great business model, great marketing, great demand, medium product and medium service.

If there needs to be a Starbucks inside the Forbidden City (which has a population of zero) in Beijing, China, then a town of 50,000 needs AT LEAST two Starbucks!

In a shopping center not far from where I live, there is your usual Starbucks shop.

About 60 or 70 yards away is a Vons supermarket... with a Starbucks inside.

There can never be enough Starbucks. I live in a town of 66,000 and we have seven. And I am within 15 minutes of another 20

Yes, it seems better than 2 or more Walmarts or 2 or more Whataburgers!

i personally think that there are better things that small towns like that can have two of, like good restaurants. If you ask me, starbucks is overrated and there are WAY too many of them. Oh, and amen to dogzilla's answer.

some state laws require a starbucks to be every 8 city blocks, so i'd say your living in a rebel union.
