Geez.... It is just a fork tell him thats you and its not a big deal because if you change a habit that is not bad just redefines who you are

Yes using most ppl use the fork in their left and knife in right and sometimes i get confused because i have eating with a knife is a waste of time......a time i put the fork on my right hand and knife on the left and i was told eating etiquette that the right way was fork left and knife right.....

Etiquette in America dictates that you eat using your fork in your right hand. However, when you cut, you are supposed to switch your fork to your left hand and cut using the knife with your right (more control for right handed people, and since they are in the majority, this became standard practice). In Europe, I understand the practice is to eat and cut with the fork always in the left hand, so no switching back and forth. It depends on where you are from, and where you are 'when in Rome, do as the Romans'.

I can't 'see' that you're right handed...but if you are then u would have more control with your right hand and would likely hold the fork in your left and cut with your right. If you cut with your left..it might mean you are at some level ambidextrous (sp?) If you are strong using either hand great! Either way...it shouldn't be considered abnormal. Everyone does their own thing.

And what does that have to do with your Dad???

Seriously? Who cares? Eat how you want to.

I hold my fork in my left hand all the time (I'm right-handed). It is just preference because I don't like switching back and forth like most Americans do.

What's normal? Many Americans cut up their food, transfer the fork to their right-hand and eat that way. Normal for them.
Whatever way is comfortable for you is the right way for you.
I'm right-handed - rigidly so - but I deal cards left-handed.

The only thing abnormal is your friend's petty observation regarding your dining etiquette. You go right on using dining implements the way that's comfortable to you and do not concern yourself with the negative opinions of others...

it's definatly not abnormal! it means you are ampedextris(you can use both hands equally in some cases) take me for example, i:
in baseball bat lefty, and throw righty, i kick a soccer ball with my right foot, i'm a lefty tennis player and hockey player, i write righty, and i dribble a basketball with my left hand
