I have a deleting history problem. There are two items that I cant seem to get rid of. I have cleared history with tools ,I have downloaded history removers, and regestry cleaners, spyware anti virus etc.The addresses are not in my favorites or in documents or my pictures. I have looked through my drives for hidden files. I have restarted ,restored ,everything but hit it with a hammer. Its an older HP with windows xp pro. I have two of the same computers the other one is about 5 months newer and I dont have the same problem with it. Going crazy here.

If you have tried ALL of those things you personally probably cannot do it yourself. Do you have any Geek friends who are good at hacking? I would have suggested going to a restore point, but you say you've tried that. Not sure why the history bothers you. Leave it be, it doesn't get in the way does it?
IF no geek friends then try taking it to Radio Shack. They did great things with my HP in about 15 minutes flat and only charged me $40. I was a happy camper. They shaved 4 minutes off my startup time.
Good Luck.

You might upgrade to IE 7.0 then try to delete the history again. Do you have administrator rights on the machine? What version of Internet Explorer are you running? While you are in Internet Explorer press your F1 key. Have you used tools and internet options, to delete the history? How old is the history you can not delete?

Go to start, click Run and type in regedit

/warning: i suggest you back up your registry before changing anything since if you delete or alter anything by accident, it can mess up your entire system/

Follow the tree and find :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Software\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Explorer\
RunMRU

Delete everything EXCEPT the "MRUList"

Hope this helps.
