Neither symbol has any "power" per se.They are merely identifiers for Christians. The cross or crucifix are more meaningful, since they represent the actual sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. The fish is a cultural symbol from the time of the Roman Persecution; it was used for Christians to recognize each other.

It would depend on the emotive reation of the individual, and what might be going on at the time.

If I was a persecuted Christian running from a mob that wanted to kill me for being one, and someone was to show me any Christian symbol in order to help me escape, I think that I would appreciate seeing it.

However, I normally do not feel attached to any of those symbols. They are just symbols that some have gone to far with, and treat as idols.

Potentially - the Visca Pisces, or the 'Fishy Organ' is essentially a depiction of the vagina (Tip it on it's side if you don't get it) a throwback to the concept of a female godhead, which of course scares the crap out of the Xtian church. As a symbol of fertility and birth, it seems to me to have more going for it than the symbol of a dead god on a stick!

No it is not more powerful, just more peaceful... you see it's hard to argue with the "Love" symbolized in the charitable feeding of so many with only one visible source of abundance.

No. The cross will protect you from vampires. That dinky little fish does nothing!

True Christians do not need visible symbols of their faith. The Bible says that TRUE followers of Christ "go on walking by faith, not by sight."
