I get thumbs-down when I answer a question from a non-religious point of view. I believe that the christians go through and give it to anyone who does not share their beliefs.

I only give thumbs down when the answer is irrelevant or mean. An answer is not a bad answer simply because I do not agree. It is always a good answer if it is thought out, and especially if it has links, and some form of logic. Even if the logic is based on a belief system that I do not share!

I don't. I mention God alot and I don't receive thumbs down more so than anyone else in the same question who did not mention God. Dont' take it personally, it's just a game.

It makes sense to me.

'Mentioning scripture' is quoting a 2000 year old book written by ignorant, superstitious, Bronze-age fishermen and shepherds, while claiming that the Book is true or relevant. With the amount of disinformation within, the amount of murder and human sacrifice within, and the amount of rape within, it is not acceptable in civilized society to mention the Bible as a positive influence.

Referring to God is referring to a magical, invisible, all-powerful, being who does not exist. It's like a schizophrenic telling you about their invisible friends. That kind of babble does not belong in an information based answers site.

Faith is merely hoping that something is true, hoping against all evidence and proof. It is simply not an acceptable attribute in responsible adults in an enlightened society. It is a child's fancy.

I only give thumbs-down for stupid or mean - questions or answer. I have never given one for a well thought out, reasonable Q or A even when it is about scripture.

Yep. Me too. Why do those who claim to be atheist or non believers ask religious questions? Why do they bother answering, or more likely bashing, religious questions? Is it fear? Is it envy? Oh well, here comes some more of it........

I think it just depends on who is reading at the time.I think non-believers love to hang out here waiting to pounce on believers.I just don't understand, if they think we are so silly, why do they hand out on this category?
