To CF- I have been an at home mom for 8 years, this daycare is out of a womans home down my street. I would only go this route if after meeting with her I feel she is loving enough. It is for ONLY 3 HOURS a DAY not the entire day. Know the facts before you judge me as a parent.

I don't know where you are but $1000 a week for parttime daycare is crazy to me. I think if I asked my mothers for that amount they would laugh and never come back. She is ripping you off. I charge $140 a week for full time daycare 7am-5 pm. Wow $1000

I prefer family child care homes. I live in a small city in NC. Around here it's about $100(FT) a week for a toddler that isn't potty trained and $85 a week for one that is. It's about $50 a week for before and after school care. These rates are for 5 star daycares/family child care homes which is the rating system used for the state inspections. The rates are different depending on where you live and the cost of living there and their rating..

I live in Indiana and to put my 15 month old in all day and my school age child in before and after care is $1300.00 a month. Every daycare is different. Also some daycares offer military discounts or if you work close, discounts for the place you work for....Good Luck.

I am not sure how old your children are but I would look around for another afterschool program or another in home babysitter.
For 3 hours a day childcare should not be over 75-100 a week. You wouldn't pay that much for programs through the YMCA or afterschool programs.
Talk to other moms near you that you know and see who they use.

This depends on what type of care you are putting your children in. If they are attending a learning center or just a place that watches them. Some places charge you for a full week, regardless if you are in there 2 - 4 hours a day or all day. You should check with that companies policies. At mine, if they attend even one day, I am responsible for the entire week of tuition. If they are out all week, I am responsible for 1/2 the cost of tuition. My cost was about that same amount for my 2 children all day all week. Mine were at a learning center, which I did not mind paying for - both were VERY ready for kindergarten.

It depends on where you live. I live in Alabama and its 400.00 a month but mine stays all day. I would shop around before I settled for that amount for just 3 hours a day. Have you looked into home daycares?

I pay $80.00 a week for my little girl. A lot depends on how old the kids are and how many hours they are at the daycare. I think thousand is a lot.

I definitely think it can vary greatly based on where you live. I live in AZ and pay about $1200/mo for 2 kids FT in a facility type place. I switched to a great in-home and now pay $1300/mo FT. But its a much better place. I used to live in IL and paid about $1200/mo for agreat in-home as well. But this is for 8 hours/day. It sounds like you are paying $1000/mo for 3 hours??? Too much!!!

seems rather high to me but I dont know what country you are in or anything so I am sure rates differ....
is it worth it??? the risks to your kid in day care... socially?
kids most formative years are 0-5 these are the years they MOST need their parents guidance for development and self esteme... kids raised in day cares have issues that are not apparent until the kid is in its early/mid teens

also they learn bad habits, are exposed to sickness, harsh cleaning chemicals, and head lice

young kids often develop ADD or ADHD because the day cares are such busy places... this is a well known fact but day cares dont want to admit it of course

cant you find work when your husband is home so he can watch the kids.... or hire a person to come to your home and childmind or take the kids to somebodies home (a day home) or BE a parent - make sacrifices so you can stay home and BE the parent
