We are adopted children of God through the waters of baptism. When you think about it, Jesus is one and the same with God, we are not.

Jesus is special because he existed to tell a story, that today is a book that is the most widely cirulated book in history. The "Bible". Jesus is also the hero of the book, the one that sacrificed for humankind and the one that spoke for God. Like all fathers, no matter how much they say they treat their children equally, there is always a favorite, or the "chosen" one. If all that is said, is true, then Jesus was the chosen one, therefore he is special.

I am not God's child, I am the child of my parents. I don't see anything particularly special about Jesus other than that he was able to convince a lot of people that he was God.

In my opinion, Jesus is so special because He was sent to Earth in order to show everyone that our Father, God, was "real." Not only was He sent here by God, but Jesus died on the cross for OUR sins, so that we would be forgiven and go to Heaven. HE DID IT FOR US.

1) Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
2) To be a child of God, is to obey His commandments, believe on His Son, and follow in the spiritual foot steps of Jesus.

There is nothing call "Child of God"....If you devote to God only,,,then u r the sevant of God....Jesus was a prophet and God choose him from his people....Jesu wasnt son of God or something, he was only a prophet like other prophets....for example Moses had stick that turn into snake....is he a God???....NO...right....then Jesus is not a God....use ur mind friend....
There is Only one God...Thats very clear and pure...

Children of God is a metaphor. We are God's creation and desendents of God's Creation and the marriage of God's sons with God's creations.
Jesus is a direct product of God and human.
We are indirect.
It's like your older sister marrying and you now have a "brother" in her husband, but he's not really your brother and when you have kids they will call him Uncle but he's not directly related to them like they are to your sister.
That's rough analogy.

We are NOT all God's "children". We are all His CREATION.
We are MADE His children by Him, by adoption, in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.
Christ is the LOGOS, the eternal Word made flesh. We are not.
He is uncreated. We are created.

He figured it out well enough to realize that everyone is included. Most of us think it is restricted to people that we agree with and like.
