With Raynauds you never rub your hands together you risk further damage. Its also wise NOT to run your hands under water because when suffering an attack you can burn yourself.. It always amazes me how ppl with this disease can give the worst advice.. This is exactly why sometimes places like this can cause more damage then good.

I would suggest you consult your dr.

Are you sure this is not a autoimmune condition called Raynauds?I have it and you are somewhat describing it,first usually the fingertips turn white, then purple, then if left unchecked black. There are 2 kinds 1 is Raynauds and the other is Raynauds phenomenom which is attached to other autoimmune problems. At first when I got it in 03 i felt nothing so they would get dark, but now as time has went by They get painful so I know an episode is coming. Its a problem where cold even in airconditioning closes up the vessels-cappilaries in your fingers.I do know a woman who gets it very bad even on her hands. If this is it,You need to wear Mittens not gloves,if you see they are turning colors the best thing to do is run your hands under warm water as you rub your hands and fingers to get the blood flow back in.You must be aware of this because there are other problems that can arise if you leave them to turn dark, like ulcers in the fingertips, etc. You need to go to a rheumatologist. They would know for sure.they usually put you on a blood pressure pill which will open up the vessels to allow blood flow,I choose not to take them anymore and just deal with the raynauds my way cause of the side affects of the pills. Now im not sure this is what you have and im not a doctor but if it continues and they get painful you must go to doctor.Big sign though is first your fingers turn white I mean real white! Then purple then black so like I say I dont know if this is your problem but you should find out if this continues. Good luck
