I was given a prescription for Retin-A about two months ago & I use it along with another medication called Finacea. Usually the doctor will give you a follow up appointment after he has prescribed the medication. Use it correctly for that amount of time, & when you go back to see him/her, he'll be able to determine if your skin is better or you can tell him your concerns & he will recommend something else.
It has been working ok for me, but keep in mind that everyone's skin is different. Retin-A is good for preventing wrinkles, also.
Good luck!

I have found that when using Retin-A, it is best to always combine it with a non oily moisturizer. I personally found that Clinique's moisturizer works the best. It's not greasy, and it won't clog pores, and when mixed together with Retin-A prior to application, it helps balance the skins reaction to the drying/ burning effects of Retin_A

I use Retin-A for acne and it seems to help but it does make my skin very very dry. So I agree with what someone else said about using a non-oily moisturiser.
Good luck with it

it didn't do that to me...i'd contact the doctor; it could be an allergic reaction. i do know that while you're using retin a, you have to be really careful with sun exposure - make sure you're using an oil-free sunscreen on exposed skin as it is more sensitive to uva and uvb rays from the retin a...maybe this could be casing the peeling?

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

I use Retina A to lessen the lines of my face and it helps. I have not tried it on the chest or back. Maybe you need a stronger prescription for your body.

I tried it for acne, but it didn't work that well. I think it's greasy. Try Mederma or something.
