...but it always gives me this message when I type in the web address for my mail account:
The POP server “www.mail.aol.com” is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the “Incoming Mail Server” field. If it still doesn’t respond, the server might be temporarily unavailable.

If you continue, you may not be able to receive any email.

I'm afraid that you'll need to buy a Yahoo Premium Account.

Yahoo doesn't allow POP access to freebie accounts.

Alternatively, you can still keep accessing your mail through the http access by using your browser and pointing it to mail.yahoo.com

Yahoo does not offer pop access to its mail, unless you have an acct like @sbcglobal.net or similar. You can also get YPops that will allow you to get yahoo.com mail but im not too sure if there is a mac version or not. The pop server www.mail.aol.com would have nothing to do with a yahoo mail server.

Yahoo mail is webmail, not POP3 mail.
