Adam was created from the dust of the ground and Eve from Adam's rib so they did not have belly buttons. we are born from a woman that is why we have belly buttons.

Hmmm... I see there seems to be a problem with distinguishing actual historical facts from stories created to explain the universe. Adam and Eve fit neatly into the latter category.
