Look for the SNL clip in which John Belushi is jogging in place in a metal tub under flood lights.
There's siphon tubes leading from the tub into bottles of Gator-Ade, filling them up with his sweat; and the ending caption - "Gator-Ade, puts back in what your body loses".

im not sure exactly what year but i know it was invented at the university of florida in the 60's to keep the football team hydrated..hence the name. Florida Gators(Gatorade). invented by Robert Cade, M.D

I don't know but I stay away from it because it has too much sugar & caffiene.

However, I think it was in the 70s and was "invented" at the University of Florida for its athletes. Then it was purchased by a major canned-food company.

It was in 1967. That was when the very first flavor came out. The flavor was lemon lime.
