You're obviously not serious.... let it out once a month? You do not need to own an owl if you think you can cramp it in a cage and keep it locked up except for one per month.

You're joking. You must be joking. Just in case, I'll answer the question. No. You can't keep an owl - especially not an eagle owl - in anything it cannot fly freely in. The owl will not be able to survive, that's the bottom line. It has to be able to exercise, and once a month is not enough. It needs to be able to fly at will. It will probably refuse food and die of starvation. To keep predatory birds you need a lot of space, specialist knowledge and help from experts. I suggest you do a google search, get in touch with any local falonary centres for advice, and visit your local library for some books on the subject. Please don't keep an owl like this - it is animal cruelty and hopefully illegal.

Minimum size cage for an eagle owl should be 10ft x 20ft x 8ft high.
Any thing less is cruel. They need to fly every day. It is not illegal to own one of these birds in the UK but it is illegal to illtreat them

i do not even think it is legal to have an owl as a pet. and if it is, that is definatly animal cruelty. you cannot have an animal in a cage that you yourself said will be cramped and let it out only once a month. inhumane if you ask me.

Not unless you want to go to jail for illegal possession of a bird of prey.

What many people don't realize when they post 'jokes' like this is that IP addresses can be tracked....and you just never know who might be reading that might have the authority to track you down and press charges based on what you write, when you claim to be planning something illegal. ;-)

Would you like someone to stick you in a coffin and let you out once a week. Don't be a dumbass. That's the best answer your going to get here!

That would be animal abuse in my opinion, whatever that's worth.
