yeah that sucks. If he has ANY attraction to you, he will go for you when he gets rejected by your friend. If not, give up on him

If you have to choose between your friend and your guy, you need to decide who is the most important to you in the long run. If you are very young and still in school, I'd go with the friend and get a new guy. But if you are an adult, I'd choose the guy and assume the friend was just jealous.

Sounds to me like it's a quandry of a triangle but one that has no winner but three losers. The easy suggestion is to do what you can to persuade him in your direction and away from hers without seeming desperate.

Find another guy. This one has his sights elsewhere regardless of whether or not your friend is interested.
Would you really want a guy to 'settle' for you? All you would be is a means to him getting closer to her.

He do not like you that is why he did not approach you therefore, I would advise you to try your luck by approaching him first since your friend is not interested in him.

If he likes your friend then he obviously doesn't like you... Just leave it to fizzle out, which it will. There's nothing else you can do.
