I am from Chicago and there we have "the magnificent mile" which is Michigan Ave and is full of clothing stores, restaurants, theaters, etc. It's in downtown Chicago. I currently reside in Madison WI and here they have "uptown" which is there downtown and it is full of college students but it has everything you need, it's off of a street called Washington Ave.
