I have Microsoft Word (the latest edition) installed on my computer. Whenever i click on a windows word app eg: Powerpoint or Word. Windows installer always appears, i click cancel and the application starts up as normal anyway. So i know for certain it is installed, just why is it every time i start it up the windows installer comes up and how can i stop it doing this!

usually that happens when something is missing. a font or something, let it install and put in the disk when it asks and you shouldn't see that anymore.
another option is reinstall and chose complete installation instead of typical.

good luck

This is because, at the time of installing the software, it was specified "Install during first use" for many of the optional components that come with MS Office. If you go to Control Panel -> Add remove programms -> MS Office -> Add Remove Components, you will get a list of components. Those componets against which you see the icon with a "1" sign are the components you specified as "Install on First Use". To solve this problem, try to install these components or mark them as "Not Available" if you can
