Depending on where you live, it is likely that the food you are eating at the buffet has been sprayed with a mild sulphite solution (potassium metabisulphite is the most common).
Sulphites protect the food from bacterial contamination acting as an invisible "shield" as all that food is just sitting out there in the open. Sulphites can cause respiratory irritation in certain individuals, but is otherwise harmless in the such small amounts. Sulphite use is strictly controlled by most health departments and is in many cases mandatory.
Many people think that they are allergic to sulphites, however, not being a protein, having an allergic reaction to sulphites is absolutely impossible. There was one case in New York City in the mid-80's where an individual actually died from the sulphites at a buffet-style restaurant, however it was found that the restaurant was using a 2000 ppm solution! These days, most restaurants will use a light misting of a 5-10 ppm solution to protect your food against dangerous contamination.
If you find you are sneezing when you eat at a buffet, this is likely the cause. Just please cover your nose when you do so.

Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one in the world that sneezes when there full. It doesn't just happen at buffets for me it happens when ever I am full. People think I am weird when i tell them, but than if they eat with me a second time they start to believe. Even if I do not sneeze when I am full I get a runny nose. I have wanted a cure for this for so long because I find this to be soo freaking annoying. People always tell me they think it's cute trying sneezing about 8-10 times a day seven days a week for 360 days a year and then tell me that they find it cute. Well if anyone can give me a cure let me know too.

It's pretty simple. You are probably allergic to something you are eating. And lots of times it is easy to narrow it down to something put on the food as a preservative. I found out several years ago I was allergic to MSG, a preservative. This used to be used alot but a lot of restaurants now don't use it for that reason. Hope this helps.

Do you ever get acid indigestion, or heartburn?
Here is my take on your problem: You have acid reflux. It gets all the way up into your nose, and irritates it and makes you sneeze.
Sinus problems are often an indicator of acid reflux.
