Not really but I can think of many cars that are generally a lot better and respected. Your friend obviously knows nothing about cars. My girlfriend owns a white Lamborghini Gallardo with pink seats and I drive that sometimes and it is the girliest car on the road, but women love it, I get so much attention from girls.
Guys just look at me and think Wanker! But I am used to that cos Ive got a F430. So people always have different opinions just go for what you like brother!

It's subjective, but I don't really like it. Having said that, the tax on the DCI as another user said is incredibly cheap, it'll do 60+ MPG and is one of the safest cars you can buy. Depends on your priorities.

Spartan forget megane the new astra sport is the baby to go for so many tuning options available to make them unique . heard to many stories about megane trade ins dealers dont want to see them

If you like it buy it, go for a 2002+ 1.5 DCI and it will be £50 a year to tax. Try to find a Dynamique model, as they have better spec.

If you stay away from a Megane 1.5 dci with GPS and 6cds you should be okay
