go to all of the animal shelters and rescues in your area, take your time. Let the animal pick you.if you find one you like they will most likely hold it for a few days until you decide.ask for the kitties on death row(all the adoptable ones anyhow) that is the best. dont only concentrate on a kitten either, all animals deserve a good home. Thats what I would do if I were you. I had a cat adopt our family, just followed us home and here he stays.

Well it depends do you live with children? then you might want a domestic shorthair kitten. If you want a fancy indoor cat you can get a persian. A persian is a big white fluffy cat & they don't do so well around kids. I would also reccomend you going to a shelter to adopt. There are many cats there that need homes.
Good Luck!!!

i dont believe its a question of what type of cat you should get , but a question of where to get it. your locale animal shelter is a good place to start. but there are alot of animal rescue orgs just check with a locale vets office or pet supply store .
my son just adopted a choclate lab that was found wondering on a very busy hwy in marietta Ga .
dont get in a hurry take your time ask questions and you will find the right pet for you.
good luck and dont forget to love your pet what ever it might be

go to a shelter and find one that you think fits you. They have info about cats like if they do or do not get alnog with kids, other animals, if they need certain foods for some cats have tummy problems and need special kitty food. they people who work at the shelters can hook you up with a cat that will work with you

Get a ragdoll if you can afford it. They are so much fun to watch since they are so clumsy. They are so sweet and love attention they are like a dog in a cats body.

Anything but the large ones. The large ones show a tendency to eat people. Anyway. If you are not planning on a stray one, if you want a certain breed, I say, you should do your homework and search the net for their character.

You know the cats that are kind of orange, well you should get one of them, you can get one at most PetSmart.~if you are leaning to get a dog, i recomend a Jack Russell Terrier if you have enough time for one. DO YOUR RESERCH!
