I think that Dave Chappelle has to be the funniest comedian in the world, I know people think his material can be controversial, but he is absoloutely hilarious, Charlie and Eddie Murphy are also very funny. Richard Prior is the man though, he started it off strong!!

Spike Milligan - much missed, much forgotten and much maligined by the BBC - his Q series was pure genius and before you disregard him - everyone from the Pythons to Peter Kay borrowed on his genius - he was a comedy genius and few comedians today can match him - the repeated use of the F*ck word isnt comedy guys!

Peter Kay is absolutely hilarious. The only negative is that he repeats a lot of his material, ie, once you've seen the DVD there's not much point in reading the book, and even on chat show interviews he recycles his stand up material.
All that aside though he is a very funny man and always makes me chuckle!
