Are you saying you bought a "Do It Yourself" hair kit and just want tips?

Or are you saying your going to buy Dye and Activator sepereately and want to know how to mix it?

Or are you saying to want to use household products?

For the first one: It's good to not wash your hair or put anything in your hair for as long as posible then read directions. The oil helps activate and attach the color to your hair why protecting your scalp. Some directions say to damp hair, some have a creme you put in before putting in hair color, some say to leave hair dry.

Second one: Ask employees at the store. You need to bleach your hair to get most of those seperete parts of mix things to work. They suck. People say the Semi-Perm is even better then the Perm when you use those.

For the Third: Most things have been set up so they don't stay or they come out when you take a bath/shower. So probably not a good idea to use them unless you have alot of Berries and time on your hands.

Tips:
Toothpaste takes dye out of your skin and things around your bathroom.
Wear icky clothes you use when you paint or plan to trash if you color hair with clothes on.
Red takes the longest to rince out of your hair,.. you may want to use old icky towels for a few days and ick towel on your pillow or icky pillow covers on your pillow for about a week.
Have icky rags, washclothes, and towels on stand by incase you need to clean up. Probably good to cover the bathroom in icky towels on the floor in the first place just incase.
Have another person color your hair,.. one you trust and that won't grab scissors,.. this way they can make sure the hair color is evenly put in in all your hair and gets to every hair from every angle of sight.
