I think you're sitting around a lot and you're not used to the inactivity, instead of thinking 'oh well, make the most of it' you are stressing about going back to work and Xmas!
You can't go back to work. Your boss will send you home. You are an insurance liability to the company until you are well again!

You are in pain! So stop, and spend the next two weeks learning how to relax. If hearing that makes you want to scream 'how can I relax when...' then you are suffering from stress and need to get that sorted.
This stress will be the underlying problem.
It is normal and healthy to be able to relax, and its healthy to listen to your own body which is telling you its in pain!
Learn to stop being a workaholic all the time. Work at work. Make some time out every day to wind down and relax.

Hi im a nurse and the best way to get better is to take rgular analgesia and rest and take a little walk each day to help the muscles. After 1 week you should feel ok to shop but dont go back to work for 2 weeks. Its only been 4 days so just chill and get as much sympathy as you can!!

i had mine out a few years ago & unfortunately the only way for a speedy recovery is rest!! you have only just had it done and the doctor doesn't give 2 weeks off for no reason. Have you got a partner? this is your chance to get them to do everything for you-take advantage!!! if not try and keep your mind busy with arts & crafts or something similar!! i hope you get well soon & you have a super xmas!!!!take it easy!x

Just take it easy like the doctor said. They don't give this information out just to annoy you, you know.

In two weeks you'll still have plenty of time to do your Christmas shopping - you could even do it on the internet in the meantime - and you'll be full of energy to celebrate the festivities.

You really need rest after an operation even if it was keyhole surgery.
Take a nice bath and treat yourself to something nice.
Phone a friend for a chat and a cup of coffee.
Best of luck

Listen to your Doctor , he has given this advice because he is aware of what surgery he had to do and the process of healing, to do otherwise may cause further problems and a visit to hospital rather than shopping.

do as your doctor says you cannot recover from this in days and the place you work will not take you back if you have been told not to go for two weeks by the doctor its illegal if you dont take it easy you will split open and have to start again enjoy the time you have
