I really want to purchase a digital camera this year but I'm clueless as to what to get. I would like something that is a reasonable price. 300 is TOPS. it would be nice for it to be under 250, but I won't sacrifice quality for price. I want a camera that takes nice, clear pictures. Something that will last. It shouldn't be too hard to use but I'm generally good with electronics so that's not too much of an issue.

Suggestions are welcome. Specific camera models or even just brands that you think are good will be helpful. Thanks!

Canon Powershot, Pentax (water proof) don't waste money on more than 5 mega pixels. We're not doing graphics design.

My husband bought me a Fujifilm 4.1 mega pixel A345 Finepix and I *love* it!! It not only does digital pics and has zoom features, it does video with sound and the quality is incredible!! I took a video of us on a boat recently...we had to scatter ashes into the water, and the boat was rocking...I didn't think we'd get a good video, but I was wrong!! It was a FABULOUS video...nice & clear and you can't even tell the boat was rocking and the sound quality was great; clean and sharp. Incredible! And it's reasonably priced...right in your price range!

Earlier this year, I bought a Nikon Coolpix L3 for a little under $200, and I really like it. I can do pics as well as videos.

I have a samsung 5.1 megapixels from Walmart. It takes good pictures, and is only about 130 dollars. I saw some that were 6.1 megapixels and such. I am truely confident that you can find what you are looking for at Walmart.
