The name "chickpea" was derived eventually from the Latin name cicer - Cicer is a genus of the legume family Fabaceae. Its native distribution is across the Middle East and Asia , and in French - chiche. "Garbanzo" is from the Spanish language.

Because like almost everything else U are being scammed by the manufacturer/shop.
They are supposed to, but all you are getting is the taste.
