I need to write a letter of complaint about my doctor.

I've just been to see him about my 1 year old daughter and he was really rude and arrogant and didn't even have the time to listen to me properly or give me the relevant prescription.

I had to go to the chemists and ask them what I should do!!

Please help as I had to get my daughter ready to go out to see him and she has the flu and a high temperature and he couldn't even be bothered

Thanks

I hope your daughter is fine now!

Young children have a temerature all the time with all sorts of bugs around.

The main things to look for are a RASH and a dislike of lights, if you see a rash do the tumbler test! Hopefully you know about this if not research it!
If your child just has a temerature, why not buy CALPOL? From the chemists shop, most chemists will see your child and some now have a small consultaton room so see you in private. They usualy have more time on their hands during the day.

If you dont like your doctor then change to another surgery, if you want to complain, use the NHS website, however unless your doctor has behaved in-appropriately, I don't see the need.

Give him a break as he is most likely stressed and works long hours and gets to see lots of miserable, grumpy faced, depressing people all day long!

I hope your daughter is well again soon x

I would address the letter to the Practice Manager. Be very exact in your complaint. If I were in your situation I would also request a meeting with the doctor and the practice manager. The doctor may have had several complaints made against him by other unhappy patients. Keep all copies of letters sent and received. Good luck with this one. I hope your daughter is feeling better.

If I were you I would find another doctor first.

Once you've done that, write a letter of complaint to your Primary Care Trust.

If you write a letter of complaint to your doctor what he will do is throw you off his list, and you will have nowhere to take your daughter till you find a new doctor.

This happened to my daughter when she complained about her health visitor.

Be aware that a substantial minority of people working inthe "caring" professions are complete a*seholes who just want to have power over and bully other people.

Good luck, and I hope your little girl is ok.

Report him to the medical council , with a explanation of what occurred, how ever if you do this you can expect that he will refuse to see you again, If there are other Doctors in the area register with them , then send the letter off to the Medical council as to your reasons for moving

Write a letter of complaint to your local medical board and if you get no satisfaction writ to the medical board of review.
In general doctors are good and helpful having said that there are always the bad apples who are only there for the loot.
I happened to find one of them years ago who treated me for 5 years for something I never had.
Hope you get satisfaction.

Contact the Medical Board and report him. I think every state has A Med. Board. I would also report him to the BBB(Better Business Bureau) and then find A new Pediatrician.

I think we now live in a world of claims direct and its stupid. If a doctor spoke to you badly 10 years ago you would just put up and shut up. He was probably having a bad day like we all do, and let it slip into his daily practice. Its not the end of the world is it? Concentrate on looking after your little girl instead of moaning on here. He is human after all.

Doctors rely on you for their salaries, you are the client and should be treated that way, if you're not happy with his service, dump him and get another gp

first tell the receptionist at the surgery and tell her how you feel, all surgery's have complains procedures, if not tell him yourself, maybe someone should, failing that email me his number and I'll tell him.
