survior has the right idea.. but it can get a liitle more complicated than that. Here are some examples for you:
Double Stranded DNA virus --herpes, adenovirus
Single Stranded DNA virus -- Parvovirus
(-) single stranded RNA virus -- Orthomyxo virus (influenza a, b,)
