The plant has to respire, that is, release CO2 and use O2 EVERYTIME! but when it starts photosynthesising at daybreak, it uses the CO2 produced by respiration for photosynthesis, until the compensation point, that is when rate of photosynthesis is equal to the rate of respiration. however as rate of photosynthesis exceeds that of respiration, the amount of CO2 produced is no longer enough and the plant has to take it from the atmosphere...

You are right about plant consuming oxygen, but only during the time when there is no light.
During the day light hours it consumes carbon dioxide, and gives out oxygen. It does use this carbon dioxide gas for photosynthesis.

It's the reverse. Plants give off oxygen(that's why we need plants to survive) and plants take in carbon dioxide(CO2). That is why the air is always fresher in a forest area where they are many plants that do the same cycle and keeping the air always clean and fresh.

u mite b knowing by now that oxygen is exhaled in plants
hey sm plants do store carbon dioxide (CAM plants like pineapple guava
all the plants in desert areas or with severe heat they to protect the loss of water (excess evaporation causes water deficit)
breathe in night so nd store crbn dioxide nd store it in d form of of ions
the answr is yes but not all acc to the envrnmental ques
ihope u get it...

Someone got a little confused.
Carbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is released. Hence why the air is always fresher in a heavily forested area.

Plants don't do respiration.
The only time plants give off carbon dioxide is after they have died, and they are breaking down.

Hey
plants are like humans. Do we store oxy for us? No. so plants can't store it.
It's all chemical reactions in atmospheres which alters the chemical composition of atmosphere.
You can take greenhouse gas effect as an example.
Mother earth is doing a lot of things above us.

Dude, it's the reverse. CO2 is taken up and O2 is released. 'Cause with the plants make for the breathing of people, get it?

there is no lungs for plants to store gasses inside. more over there is abundent CO2 in atomosphere. they are not so greedy as man.
